The biggest blockbusters coming out in 2024

We may have begun the year with the epic Dune: Part Two but there's a whole lot more big-budget blockbusters due out in 2024 to keep you on the edge of your seat. From the adrenalin-pumping Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga to the breath-holding tension of A Quiet Place: Day One, and rounding up the year with the magic of Wicked, there's plenty to keep you entertained. Let's take a look at our most anticipated releases.

Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga

Oh what a lovely day! The prequel to George Miller's 2015 smash hit Mad Max: Fury Road hits our screens this May. Telling the story of how a young Furiosa was snatched from the Green Place and how she ended up in the Wasteland, fuelling her desire for revenge and home, this is one full-throttle all-action adventure you don't want to miss!

A Quiet Place: Day One

Another prequel to a blockbuster franchise, we go back to the day it all began, and find out the origins of the sound-seeking monsters. Lupita Nyong'o stars as one of the community that has to quickly learn to fall silent.

Twisters

Witness the power of nature destroy everything in it's path as tornado season descends on 2024. Back in 1996 Twister blew everyone away, now the tornadoes and their hunters are bigger and bolder. Starring Glen Powell and Daisy Edgar-Jones as the storm-chasers out to try and predict and tame the twisters, you're sure to get swept away in the action.

Deadpool & Wolverine

Everyone's favourite sweary anti-hero returns and this time he's bringing his best friend as he joins the MCU. Wade Wilson aka Deadpool has been recruited to the Time Variance Authority and needs a sharp-clawed helping hand. LFG!

Alien: Romulus

The sci-fi/horror-thriller takes the phenomenally successful “Alien” franchise back to its roots: While scavenging the deep ends of a derelict space station, a group of young space colonizers come face to face with the most terrifying life form in the universe.

Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice

Did someone say his name three times?! Beetlejuice is back after Lydia Deetz returns to Winter River and her daughter Astrid inadvertently summons the mischievous demon. With original returning cast members expect more spooky mayhem and a lot of laughs.

Joker: Folie à Deux

Lady Gaga joins the cast as Harley Quinn as Joaquin Pheonix reprises his titular role. With rumours of some musical numbers as well as the dark brooding that we've come to know of Joker, it looks like falling in love may make or break him.

Released 4 October

Wicked

It's time to defy gravity, with the film adaptation of one of the most recognised musicals in the world. Starring Cynthia Erivo as the misunderstood green witch Elphaba, and Ariana Grande as the spoilt Glinda this one is sure to have you singing in the aisles.
