The desert bodyguard Daoma is entrusted by his benefactor Patriarch Mo to escort the mysterious Zhishilang back to Chang'an, and is besieged by the riotous Hu Shang family.

Patriarch Mo perishes defending the identity of Daoma as the guard of the sinful family's orphaned baby Xiaoqi that Daoma had risked his life to save so many years ago, all because Zhishilang told him about Xiaoqi's and Daoma's mysterious destinies.
